The state of Italian Life Sciences in Europe

The Life Science industry represents a strategic sector for the socioeconomic development of our country on the international stage.

The European Commission ranks Italy among the moderate innovators, those countries that, while characterized by a good scientific level and financial availability to support research activities, also present an extremely fragmented local ecosystem, typically self-referential with little inclination towards technology transfer.

This scenario results in a lack of sufficient critical mass to fuel and sustain the country’s innovation system, limiting its attractiveness from an industrial perspective, new projects, and investments.

Therefore, a cultural change that recognizes scientific research as central to development is necessary, enabling the implementation of policies and initiatives to relaunch the sector and position our country among the European leaders in Life Sciences.

Pact for Innovation Summit

For this reason, together with Janssen Italia, we have organized the “Pact for Innovation Summit,” an opportunity to discuss concrete proposals for the Life Sciences sector along with institutional figures and prominent players in the world of innovation.

The event will take place on May 29, 2023, starting at 9:30 AM, at the Auditorium of Cascina Triulza at MIND – Milan Innovation District.

At the same time, the “Pact for Innovation” Manifesto will be presented, containing proposals aimed at supporting innovation in the Life Sciences.
