From the Bio4Dreams network<\/strong>, Labs4Edu<\/strong> was born, a project designed to enhance the teaching of biological sciences<\/strong>. This is achieved by setting up tailor-made biotech laboratories for schools<\/strong>. Indeed, providing students with hands-on lab experience<\/strong> increases engagement and curiosity, stimulating interest<\/strong> in pursuing studies in this field.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Labs4Edu <\/strong>was first introduced at Didacta 2023<\/strong>, a leading event in educational innovation. This project is the result of a collaboration between WonderGene <\/strong>and Labs2Life<\/strong>, both part of the Bio4Dreams network.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

WonderGen<\/a>e<\/a><\/strong> is an SME specializing in genetic analysis<\/strong> and, in recent years, also in scientific <\/strong>communication and outreach <\/strong>with the ScienceUP<\/a> project.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Labs2Life<\/a><\/strong> is a startup specialized in the design<\/strong>, creation<\/strong>, and management of research laboratories<\/strong>, including advanced ones.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Laboratories in all-inclusive kits for students and teachers<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Labs4Edu provides schools with complete packages for setting up laboratories<\/strong>. These include equipment, reagents, educational kits (based on IBSE methodology)[1]<\/sup><\/a>, and training courses for teachers. The packages range from basic to advanced options, adapting to the diverse needs of schools.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Grazie a questi pacchetti, gli studenti possono sperimentare diverse attivit\u00e0 di laboratorio. Queste includono elettroforesi su gel<\/strong>, analisi del DNA<\/strong>, studio delle proteine<\/strong>, caratterizzazione di batteri<\/strong> e virus<\/strong>, e l’uso di marcatori fluorescenti<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Thanks to these packages, students can engage in various laboratory activities. These include gel electrophoresis<\/strong>, DNA analysis<\/strong>, protein studies<\/strong>, characterization of bacteria<\/strong> and viruses<\/strong>, and the use of fluorescent markers<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Operationally, Labs2Life <\/strong>handles the setup of lab spaces<\/strong> with equipment, reagents, and experimental kits. Among these are the miniPCR devices produced by Amplyus, for which Labs2Life is the distributor in Italy. WonderGene<\/strong>, meanwhile, organizes training<\/strong> for teachers to properly conduct educational activities<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Bio4Dreams <\/strong>has provided support for the organizational<\/strong> and communication activities of the initiative.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Labs4Edu in numbers<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

Since its launch in March 2023, Labs4Edu has reached seven Italian regions<\/strong>, including Friuli-Venezia Giulia, Lazio, and Veneto. The project has equipped 17 high schools<\/strong> and trained about a hundred science teachers<\/strong>. In the 2023\/2024 school year, approximately 9,500 students<\/strong> are experiencing this innovative approach to scientific education.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Labs4Edu <\/strong>is a #SuccessCase from the Bio4Dreams network<\/strong>. Indeed, it highlights how this context stimulates collaborations and synergies between the entities that are part of it, as in the case of WonderGene and Labs2Life.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
