BIOCHICA<\/strong>, a startup incubated at Bio4Dreams, is participating as a partner in the European MARMADE project for the valorization of marine biomass<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Launched in September 2025, MARMADE<\/a> is a four-year European research project funded by the Circular Bio-based Europe Joint Undertaking (CBE JU). The consortium brings together 11 partners from 7 European countries.<\/p>\n\n\n

The main goal of MARMADE is to develop a portfolio of innovative, affordable, nutritious, safe, and sustainable ingredients for food and feed by harnessing marine biomass. In particular, the project focuses on processing shellfish residues (such as shrimp and blue crab exoskeletons) and seaweed using advanced biorefinery processes. This approach supports the objectives of the European Union\u2019s Green Deal for a greener and more sustainable future.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Within the consortium, BIOCHICA contributes its expertise in transforming waste into functional molecules<\/strong>, reaffirming its vision for a more circular and resilient economy: turning what is considered an ecological problem into a valuable resource. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
