Bio4Dreams has had its status as a certified incubator by the Ministry of Enterprises and Made in Italy (MIMIT) reconfirmed for the sixth consecutive year, reaffirming its role among Italy’s leading organizations in the incubation and acceleration of innovative startups and SMEs.

What “certified” means

A certified incubator or accelerator is an excellence-driven organization that supports the creation and growth of innovative, high-tech startups. Certification by the Ministry of Enterprises and Made in Italy (MIMIT) attests compliance with stringent requirements and enables access to specific support measures, including incentives and tax benefits, to foster the growth of the innovative startups and SMEs supported.

The national context and the benefits for innovative startups and SMEs

The national picture confirms how selective this recognition is: Italy has identified 239 active incubators and accelerators, of which 68 are certified incubators. Fifteen are in Lombardy, including Bio4Dreams.

For innovative startups and SMEs, choosing a certified incubator means access to specialized, high-quality managerial and operational support, structured networking with the research, industry, and finance ecosystems, and an environment that facilitates access to opportunities and incentives under current regulations.

Bio4Dreams’ results

To date, Bio4Dreams has:

• evaluated over 2,300 projects;
• incubated 55 innovative startups and SMEs (see our portfolio);
• invested in 18 innovative startups and SMEs, taking equity stakes;
• supported fundraising for the organizations it supports with over 26 million euro in total across investments, grants, and facilitated finance;
• established over 100 collaborations with universities, research bodies, and industrial partners in Italy and Europe (see the complete network).

With steady growth in economic indicators and outcomes, Bio4Dreams confirms its ability to generate economic value across territories and to turn research into innovative enterprises that are sustainable in the long term.
