European project design: Gaslini’s course with Bio4Dreams
On June 20, 2025, the Aula Magna of the IRCCS Giannina Gaslini Pediatric Hospital in Genoa hosted the course “European Project Design,” organized by Bio4Dreams in collaboration with the Institute’s Scientific Directorate. The initiative is part of the Project Management services aimed at strengthening biomedical research.
The course’s goal was to encourage researchers to participate in international funding calls, particularly those from the European Union. It covered strategies and best practices for successfully applying to Horizon Europe calls, following the full project lifecycle: from the initial idea to submission, including key topics such as data management and open access.
During the session, Bio4Dreams’ Grant Office team held four presentations on the main stages of accessing European funding. After an initial overview of Horizon calls and Italian participation trends, they explored the essential steps to building a successful proposal—from concept and partnership creation to final writing.
Initiatives like this help strengthen the culture of European project design and promote more collaborative, competitive, and internationally connected research.
