Keyon Lab joins the Bio4Dreams ecosystem
Keyon Lab, an innovative startup established as a spin-off of the University of Naples Federico II within the MNESYS project, has joined the Bio4Dreams ecosystem through a membership agreement.
The company operates in the field of neuroscience and is focused on developing new drugs for central nervous system disorders characterized by altered neuronal excitability.
Keyon Lab’s research focuses in particular on ion channels, with specific attention to potassium channels. These regulate the selective flow of ions and play a fundamental role in controlling the electrical activity of neurons and the transmission of nerve signals.
Through an integrated approach combining the design and synthesis of new molecules, computational studies, pharmacological and electrophysiological characterization, and validation in preclinical models, the startup aims to identify potential therapeutic solutions and support their development.
Its main applications include drug-resistant epilepsy and, in particular, rare early-onset genetic forms such as developmental and epileptic encephalopathies. Additional areas of interest include neuropathic pain, migraine, and other conditions associated with neuronal hyperexcitability.
To address these challenges, Keyon Lab brings together expertise in neuropharmacology, medicinal chemistry, and translational research.
By joining the Bio4Dreams ecosystem, the startup brings new expertise in neuroscience and drug development to the network. At the same time, the membership will offer Keyon Lab new opportunities for dialogue and connection with universities, research centers, companies, and investors, fostering scientific collaborations and high-value projects.
