BiomimX among the founders of the European Microphysiological Systems alliance
BiomimX is among the founding members of IAMPS (Industry Alliance for Microphysiological Systems), the alliance bringing together Europe’s leading players in Microphysiological Systems to accelerate their adoption and recognition.
IAMPS: a European alliance to advance MPS technologies
Microphysiological Systems (MPS) are technologies that replicate human tissue and organ functions in the laboratory, including approaches such as organoids and organ-on-chip systems. They are part of the New Approach Methodologies (NAMs) and aim to make drug development and research more predictive, ethical, and efficient compared to animal models or traditional 2D systems.
Despite their significant potential, MPS providers face important challenges, ranging from making devices widely accessible to the scientific community—both industrial and academic—to achieving broader acceptance by regulatory authorities.
To address these and other needs, nine European companies have announced the creation of IAMPS, the first industry association dedicated to representing MPS technology providers and engaging in dialogue with institutions, end-users, and key stakeholders.
BiomimX among IAMPS founding members
BiomimX is among IAMPS’ founding members, and its CEO, Paola Occhetta, has been appointed Vice President for Regulatory Adoption & Partnerships.
As a company incubated in Bio4Dreams, we are pleased to have within our ecosystem a player recognized among Europe’s leaders in microphysiological systems (MPS), actively contributing to an initiative that strengthens Europe’s competitiveness and leadership in the Life Sciences sector.
