BUOONOfarm: urban agriculture startup joins Bio4Dreams
BUOONOfarm, an innovative startup specializing in sustainable urban agriculture, has signed a membership agreement with Bio4Dreams, gaining access to the services dedicated to ecosystem members.
Founded in Milan in 2021 as a Benefit Corporation, BUOONOfarm develops innovative agricultural systems that combine biotechnology, industrial technologies, and a scalable circular farming model. Specifically, it reuses waste materials to create substrates for food cultivation. The goal is to redefine food production in urban environments.
Also based in Milan, the startup operates a pilot production facility where it utilizes mycelium—the filamentous structure of fungi that breaks down organic matter—to transform brewery and coffee roasting waste into nutrient-rich substrates. These substrates are used to cultivate fresh mushrooms destined for the local restaurant and hospitality sectors.
Looking ahead, BUOONOfarm aims to turn every urban center into a hub for sustainable, healthy, and local food production, addressing global challenges in the sector.
Within the Bio4Dreams ecosystem, BUOONOfarm will find fertile ground to connect and build synergies with national and international players in innovation and the circular economy.
