MNESYS Call: Bio4Dreams Delivers Technical and Specialist Incubation Services

The MNESYS call for innovative neuroscience-based business projects is now open. Bio4Dreams will oversee project mapping, funneling, and mentorship.
The MNESYS call is now online, aimed at building entrepreneurial foundations to enhance the value of research results developed under the MNESYS research and innovation program. Bio4Dreams will contribute its expertise in the selection and mapping of projects, as well as in funneling and mentorship phases.
The MNESYS Project
MNESYS—“A multiscale integrated approach to the study of the nervous system in health and disease”—is one of 15 initiatives selected by the Italian Ministry of Universities and Research (MUR) under the competitive “Extended Partnerships” call (Notice No. 341 of March 15, 2022), issued by ministerial decree. It is funded by the European Union – Next Generation EU through PNRR MUR – Mission 4, Component 2 “From Research to Business”, Investment 1.3.
The project aims to develop new experimental and clinical neuroscience approaches, advancing precision, personalized, and predictive medicine to significantly improve the treatment of nervous system and behavioral disorders.
The MNESYS Extended Partnership includes 25 entities: 12 public universities, 9 public research institutions, and 4 private companies. The implementing body, “MNESYS S.c.a.r.l.” (tax code 02839940992), was established as a limited liability consortium company in compliance with Article 4, paragraph 4, and within the timelines outlined in Article 7, paragraph 1, of the call. It serves as the sole contact point with the MUR, coordinating program implementation and oversight.
The Call
The call is open to established or soon-to-be-established startups and spin-offs based on ideas born within the MNESYS scientific community. In this current phase, up to six projects will be selected and supported through a personalized funneling and mentorship program, with the possibility of equity investment by MNESYS, with specific amounts to be defined later.
Proposals should aim to transfer and apply MNESYS research outcomes in fields such as neurotechnologies, neuropharmacology, cognitive sciences, neuroAI, and digital brain twins.
The application deadline is September 20, 2025.
